Doom & Gloom.. Let 2012 Bring Us Down

Not The R1 Industry
Putting all of this joking aside, this year is not shaping up to be a really good so far for anime fans that like domestic releases. Lets start off with Bandai Entertainment USA that has officially announced they will no longer licnese, make or produce any more DVDs for any new series cutting them fully out of the market expect for their older titles such as Gurren Lagann or Eureka Seven. This means any series they did have license for where reversed back to the original holders will not be released here for example they did lose are Nichijou, Gosick, & Turn a Gundam.

Now for the next tidbit of bad news is that Media Blasters has layed off 60% of it's work force cutting down to only five people. Media Blasters is not as well known as bandai but they have hung in there for the past six years by releasing some decent titles like Doujin Work, Squid Girl, Girls High and keeping a partner ship up with crunchy-roll to stream their titles. Now this isn't Genon Usa bad mind you but the worst tidbit of news I do have to add after the epic pic break.

Gendo 2012
Well biggest lay-down that has occurred so far have is that the two, biggest R1 companies that are left  that are sill licensing titles are now going to quarrel in court over un-payed dues that total eight million. So this means that Sentai Filmworks and Funimation will be dueling out in court for these un-payed dues. If you are to dense to remember Sentai Filmworks was formally ADV Films so when they filled for bankruptcy apparently broke some laws while restructuring in to six smaller companies with their the few licnese they had left to make a profit with sub only dvd's before financially coming back like they are now.

So what does all this bull-shit mean.. well in case you are under the age of twelve and in-cable of reading this means that we are on shaky ground right now. Personally I think there is a high chance of the bubble popping again like it did back in 2008 but I will still have a wait & see mood for now. Now there not much else I can add to this, but I am standing back in awe of these events thus far this could be to the changing market of needing everything digitally.

One thing I will bluntly say is this, if you really love a anime series/franchise buy what can of it while there are still physical copies in stock or be left in the dust and price gouged out the as later on. Now excuse me while I am off bargain bin diving at rightstuf?? What are your thoughts on these turns of events?? Hell it's not even February yet and the bad news just keeps rolling in catch you all later~

Dammit Congress..What The Hell Are You Doing?? The SOPA BILL

4chan.. Your So Silly..
Yeah I do realize it's been along time since I done anything here but the SOPA Bill is one of the main reasons why. In a sense this bill would give corporations unlimited power to shut down any site that they fill infringes on it's said copyright with out any due process. So lets take my site into account everybody due in part that I use hyper-links to you-tube videos or  any torrent site. Even my blog in question could be taken down and I could be charged with felony that would have a max five years in a federal prison "however fair-use might come into play for pics/videos"

One huge thing to point out is the DNS Blocking clause that would completely block your IP from accessing websites that infringes on copyright materials. The said sites would no longer be listed in Google, Yahoo, etc "This reminds me of china for some reason.." All for the sake of protecting intellectual property. Listen I do understand piracy is bad "i still do a bit myself" but this is going way above the norm to do so. Being charged with a fucking felony isn't a mother fucking game people, "that shit ruins people's lives and will only ruin people's ability to get jobs if prosecuted under this

On the other hand selling illegal goods such as counterfeit games/Cd's/movies, medication is understandable. The person in sense is selling a physical copy that can be bought legally while making a profit off said material online "eBay I am looking at you here", will be liable to remove the said products. Now pay-pal/visa/master-card or other pay means will be stopped if you trying buying said materials which is another clause this bill has. This part of the bill i  am actually okay with..despite being overboard as well. I personally thing this bill is a huge cock slap in the face but let's move on..

After watching all of the stream coverage to day on this bill "from live-stream lol". It has come to my attention that the people trying to pass this have no fucking idea on either aisle what it really means. For the love of god one senator said "let's bring in the nerds to get this right".. I have never face palmed so fucking hard in all of my life.. Oh yeah everyone have some more lovely tidbits from this wonderful conference.. Even this makes me want to slap a kitten. Well I am out everyone "back to lurking" however what are you're thoughts/opinons on this??

How Fragile Our System Really Is

Self Realization On This

Well after sitting in the dark for nearly eight hours with out anything to eat... I just got to thinking how fragile our little civilization really is. All it takes is three simple things go completely down so I will just list them. Now if the internet to go completely down, "personally I grew up with out the net but we have all come so accustom to it that's it's just to ingratiated in our lives now." Now some examples would be that people would be unable to do their  stay at home jobs, take online classes, sell stuff online, streaming movies/videos and digital distribution would be completely gone as well, It's kinda staggering when you get to really thinking about it.

Indeed Rika-Chan

The Second thing is just what I went through, it's something that people have really grown used to in the past one hundred years... can you guess what it is.. it's electricity. So much of our daily lives rely heavily on electrical devices that to be frank if our power grids ever fell were fucked. There would be no way to keep food cold, no way to contact people over the phone, no way to pump gas for cars or keep our lovely prison population locked up. Yeah... I am borrowing a bit from one of George Carlin's act but he does make a good point about something else as well... Given our nature we would start looting, killing, raping, because there would not be a way to stop us, no power=no police force.

Most Likely This Would Happen

The last  thing is just a nail in the coffin or cream on the cake. This would be no quick way to clean water. Sure we could adapt with natural gas to run some power or go with nuclear power but if we have no accesses to clean water then let the riots begin. One of the main reasons is due in part that there hardly any if at all cleans sources of water left because of our progression we have made which has left most of the rivers highly toxic/polluted, dear lord I sound like a damn green Eco Freak.. This is just some examples of what can happen to our little fragile system.. Three simple things can just make our mighty society fall so damn easily.
